Booking facilities

Library spaces can be used for working, studying, meetings and gatherings. Nearly every library in Seinäjoki have space which can be booked or rented for different purposes, such as meetings, team work and other gatherings. Many of library´s facilities can be used free of charge.

Meetings and events

Library spaces can be booked or rented for meetings and events in the main library, Nurmo and Ylistaro libraries. Some of them are free of charge and for some spaces a rent will be charged. An additional fee will be charged if the facilities are used outside opening hours. You can also have your own exhibition in the library. Below you’ll find examples of facilities to book. Contact the library for more information and booking.

Working and studying

You can come to library to work or study. If you need complete silence, there are two quiet spaces in the main library.

You can also book a work space just for yourself (or for a small group).

  • There are 3 rooms in the Aalto library (part of the main library) you can book in advance by email kirjasto@seinajoki.fi or by phone 06 416 2638. Every room is equipped with a computer with internet access. Booking these rooms is free of charge. You can have 2 bookings for these rooms at a time.
  • There is 1 room in Nurmo library equipped with a computer and internet access. You can book in advance by email nurmo.kirjasto@seinajoki.fi or by phone 06 416 7394.

Playing instruments

There is a soundproof music room Pommari in the main library. You can play guitar, drums, bass and keyboard as well as violin, ukulele, bongos and mandolin or your own instrument. There are also mics and amplifiers.

Make reservation with your library card at the music department. Using the music room is free of charge. The instruments are on your responsibility while using the room. Under 15 year-olds must have a consent from their guardians to use Pommari. You can book Pommari in advance by email kirjasto@seinajoki.fi or by phone 06 416 2428.

There is also a digital piano in the music department of the main library that you can play.
